Health Care

Our nation's health care system needs a comprehensive reform plan that gives everyone an equal opportunity to be healthy, without forcing anyone to give up the care they already have. I support a single payer health insurance program. Health care that is privately provided and publicly funded to ensure access to health care for all. This is a Human Right. For business, this is a cost issue, for employees, this resolves the issue of health care mobility AND fills in the cracks (such as for transplants) in the current system.

Preservation

Preservation is a three-part issue of agriculture, environmental integrity, and historical preservation in the 171^st House District area. Pennsylvania is an agricultural state. We need to craft programs that ensure the continued survival of family farms with sustainable agriculture programs. That also ensures that we maintain our environmental integrity and preserves our historical landscape and buildings.

As such, we must find ways to reduce our CO₂ emissions, find sources of cleaner fuel, and fund research on all promising sources of renewable energies. We must also protect the quality of our water and save our treasured but endangered landscape. We must also ensure that we do not create another environmental disaster like the pyrite situation at the top of Skytop Mountain on the western side of Centre County.

That's why I fully support high water quality standards and “smart growth” that builds on existing infrastructures in our communities and towns and maintains our open space.

Election Protection

We need to trust our election system. We must have a verifiable paper ballot trail in every county in the state that is accessible to all, including people with disabilities.

Choice

I am a firm believer in a woman’s right to make choices about her reproductive life. This is a matter between a woman, her doctor, and her faith.
